Red Wings Announce 2016 Traverse City Events

The Detroit Red Wings Will host a full slate of events in Traverse City this off season including the 2016 Development Camp, the NHL Prospect Tournament and the annual training camp. All events will be held at Centre ICE Arena located in Traverse City, MI.
First up is the NHL Development camp scheduled for July 6-10 and will include players selected in the 2016 NHL Entry draft set to get underway this Saturday in Buffalo, New York. Other players from past drafts and free agent tryouts will also participate. A full schedule and roster will be posted when it is available. Admission for this camp is $5 per day.
The NHL Prospect Tournament returns to Traverse City for its 18th year and will run Sept. 16 – 20. The eight team field consists prospect teams from Detroit, Carolina, Chicago, Columbus, Dallas, Minnesota, New York and St. Louis. The tournament will be divided into two four-team divisions, and teams will play each team in their division in a round-robin format before a crossover on the final day of the tournament. The first-place finishers in each division will play for the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The NHL prospect tournament has a long history of developing young talent and has 522 NHL alumni who have played at least one NHL game. The tournaments alumni account for more than 92,000 games and more than 12,000 goals at the NHL level. A total of 32 new alumni joined the ranks last season with many playing key roles for their teams.
The 2016 NHL training camp kicks off with the Training Camp Golf Classic scheduled for September 22nd at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa starting at 1:00 p.m. Proceeds from the tournament benefit Involved Citizens Enterprises (I.C.E.), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing affordable skating programs to Northern Michigan.
Training camp practices start on September 23rd and will continue daily through the 26th. The Training Camp Alumni and Celebrity Game will also return for a fourth consecutive season, taking place on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 p.m. The annual Red and White game will close out the Traverse City portion of training camp at 12 p.m. on September 26. A full camp roster and the complete training camp schedule will be announced at a later date.

Tickets for all September events go on sale in person at Centre Ice Arena on Saturday, July 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., while any remaining tickets will be available via fax starting Monday, July 11 at 12 p.m. Prices for practice sessions are $10 for standing-room only, $15 for reserved seating and $20 for the mezzanine. Red and White Game and Training Camp Alumni and Celebrity Game tickets will start at $20 for standing-room only, $25 for reserved seating and $30 for the mezzanine.
